Wednesday's Devotion

In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.
Proverbs 16:9(NIV)

Have you ever tried something and got the results you wanted and then tried the same thing again and got different results? This happened to Moses in the Bible. The Israelites needed water and God told Moses to strike the rock. He struck the rock and water flowed out freely. Another time they needed water again, and God told Moses, “Speak to the rock.” Do you know what Moses did? He went over and struck the rock. He thought, “Hey, it worked last time; it’ll work this time.” But God had a different plan. Water did come from the rock but Moses struck the rock instead of spoke to the rock as God commanded. Moses never received the chance to live in the Promised Land because he tried an old way in a new season.

Have you ever tried an old method in a new season??? Did it work?...
The point is, we have to stay open and make adjustments to stay in tune with God’s plan so we can live in the promise. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to lean not unto our own understanding but seek God’s will in ALL that we do…

You can do the same thing the same way you did last time and get different results but -- is it a part of God’s plan? It may not be something major but like Moses, maybe it’s just something small.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. Psalm 37:23-24 (KJV)
The steps (not leaps) but the steps of a good person are ordered by the Lord...

Sometimes a small tweak or a small adjustment can make a major difference in the outcome and you will live in the promise. Today, make sure you aren’t doing things just because it’s the way you always did it before. Instead, listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit of God inside. Follow His leading and stay in sync (in step) with the wonderful plan He has for you and your promises will not forfeit but flourish!!!

Today's Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I submit my mind, my will, and my heart to You. Help me to see clearly what Your plan is for me. Help me to stay close to You always; not living in the past but pressing forward to the new things You have in store for me, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Don't Worry

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34

"Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice."

Here are 36 tips to what you CAN do to have a worry-less life...

1. Pray always...

2. Go to bed on time.

3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule or that will compromise your mental health.

5. Delegate tasks to [capable] help.

6. Simplify and un-clutter your life.

7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are sometimes too many.)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places before time instead of arriving late.

9. Pace yourself and spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.

10. Take one day at a time. After all, God made the world at the same pace...

11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation, let God handle it.

12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13.. Have back-ups for extra car keys, house keys, stamps, clothes in case of emergency.

14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.

15. Do something for the “Kid-In-You” every day. (play, run, jump, swing, slide, hop-scotch)

16. Carry a spiritually enlightening book with you to read while waiting in long lines.

17. Get enough rest.

18. Eat well-balanced meals.

19. Get organized so everything has its place.

20. Listen to a motivational CD while driving; that can help improve your quality of life.
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.

22. Every day, find time to be alone with God.

23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray about them.

24. Make lasting friendships with godly people.

25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures handy.

26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good 'Thank you Jesus!'

27. Laugh often; even if it’s at yourself.

28. Laugh some more…even if it’s at yourself!

29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself so much. You are forever evolving and subject to change so don't be surprised or disappointed if you don't turn out the way you planned...

30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

32. Sit on your ego or leave it at home.

33. Talk less; listen more. God gave us 2 ears and one mouth. Must be a good reason for that…

34. Slow down, you’ll get there at God’s appointed time.

35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe; God is…

36. Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before.

Remember: GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU. If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

Now, enjoy this life that God has given us. Don't worry yourself to death...

Dear God,

I know that sometimes we get impatient and frustrated because we can’t see the purpose of our trials. We don’t always understand the cause of the chaos that is present around us but we know that YOU are in control. You will never leave Your children nor forsake us. You are our rock!!!

I pray for peace through the storms because we know that they are short-lived. We are Victorious in You Lord God, because Your Word said it and we believe it! Your People will experience a mighty harvest soon. A harvest in spirit, peace, joy, gladness, and richness in YOU. The seeds we've planted have been purposed in YOU and we will soon have all that we need, according to YOUR riches, in Jesus name, Amen!

Saturday Afternoon Prayer: Thanks Dad!

Father God, thank You for this day; a day that was not promised. Thank You for waking me up this morning, clothed in my RIGHT mind. Thank You for seeing my through another week. Thank you for continued safety and for keeping Your promises to protect me from dangers seen and unseen.

Lord, I appreciate You for all you've done to spare me from what could have been a fatal accident this week. I could have been badly hurt; even lost my life but you saw fit to keep me from harm. The only thing that was banged up is my car and my nerves but you are taking care of those too.

Abba Father, thank You for sparing my life and thank You for giving me another chance to be with my family and loved oned. Thanks Dad!

Thursday's Devotion: Humility and Favor

Esther 2:15 (NLT)
Esther was the daughter of Abihail, who was Mordecai's uncle. (Mordecai had adopted his younger cousin Esther.) When it was Esther's turn to go to the king, she accepted the advice of Hegai, the eunuch in charge of the harem. She asked for nothing except what he suggested, and she was admired by everyone who saw her.

“Incompetent and lazy, vain as a peacock, arrogant.” This is how writer William Shirer described Joachim von Ribbentrop, Nazi Germany’s foreign minister from 1938-1945. Another person spoke for many when she wrote, “I detest him. He terrifies me. He could walk over dead bodies.”

Ribbentrop spent his life ruthlessly pursuing his goals. Driven to impress others, he never hesitated to use people to advance his career. For example, one Jewish couple had been helpful in his career,
but when they faced trouble, he did nothing. Although his natural parents were reasonably well off, he convinced his aunt to “adopt” him so he could add “von” to his name, just to gain added prestige and influence. In the end it might be said that he was “successful,” for he held important positions and became famous and wealthy. But his life ended wretchedly when he was executed for war crimes.

Today, we see all too clearly the tragedy of a life spent pursuing the wrong goals. Many in the world are following the same patterns—focused on their careers, driven to impress, willing to compromise, lie and deceive, and ready to take advantage of others. Of course careers are good and being self-driven is fine but at what cost and to whose expense?

God offers a better way to success; a way exemplified by Esther. She lived a life characterized by selfless humility. She listened to advice and honored her superiors. She let God direct her path. She was willing to put her faith into action. As a result, God blessed her with favor…from everyone!

Would you like favor in your life?
Favor from God?
Favor in business?
Favor in relationships?
Favor in finances?

Then follow the example of Esther. Seek to be humble. Listen. Seek to serve God with your whole life, not only when others are watching.

Happy New Year: The Christian Challenge

Welcome to 2012 Saints!

Truly we are blessed to have made it thus far. This is a new season for many and I pray that this year will bring you much peace. So many people are on edge and living without much peace. Always worried about something: the economy, jobs, food, shelter, able to meet monthly obligations, church, family, etc, etc, etc. Well, this year, seek to live with as much peace as possible. In the past, I have come know peace very well -- especially on THIS side of heaven.   This new year, I will purposely seek out peace in my life and help others do the same.

I am so excited about 2012 for many reasons but one of the main reasons [for me] is KNOWING that the God of ALL creation  has a MASTER plan for me!!! It's time for me to step up my game and become a key player in God's Kingdom. My question for you is: will you become a key player for Christ or will you continue to warm the bench? Will you practice Christianity daily or throw caution to the wind chasing after the finite worldly things? Do you want to be a headliner for Christ or remain an unknown bench-warmer for the enemy?

When I played the competitive game of basketball, I was a starter and key player. As a Freshman, and being elected to the Varsity Team, I faced many, many challenges from the "upper class" team players but I didn't let that stop me from achieving my goals.  I started out on the bench but eventually became a starter. By the time I reached my Sophomore year of high school, I became a headliner. I practiced as often as I was breathing; totally dedicated a portion of my life to being the BEST team player that I could be! I was very skilled in my abilities. By the time I reached my Senior year, I earned my rank as one of the 4th leading scorers in my district. My position in rank was due to an injury that had me out of the game for about 4 weeks. Who knows, I could have possibly been ranked as #1; either way, I was still ahead of most who never missed a game...

Why was I so successful at the game? Because I put in the WORK and practiced all the time! When I wasn't sleeping, eating and studying, I was practicing on perfecting my skills. Back then, I was dedicated to a physical game but now I am dedicated to a spiritual game called Christianity.  If you play the game righteously, you'll win in Christ.

Are you suited and ready to take the Christian challenge in 2012?

Now is the time to suit up (Ephesians 6:10-18), practice (Romans 12:13), do well (Titus 3:14) and get ready to WIN!!! (1 Corinthians 9:24) I'll meet you on the practice court @ church! Whose got next???

'Tis The Season

Christmas time is here! The season for giving, sharing, caring, cooking and eating -- too much at times. It's a time where family and close friends share gifts of love and heart-felt fellowship. I pray that we all remember the reason for the season -- that reason is because we celebrate Jesus Christ our Lord. Our Lord came to save us from eternal sin and death and I am grateful to God for coming down to save ME!

Christmas time is also a time to reflect on our lives and the type of relationship we truly have with the One we celebrate. Is our relationship intimate? Do we pray to our God in Jesus' name? Do we reflect on the significance of His birth or is it just another children's story?

As we move into the season of giving and before we go out and spend enormous amounts of money, only to find ourselves counterfeiting the real reason for the season, let us remember to celebrate the true meaning of Christ-mas then our gift giving will have much more significance.

So, be of good cheer during this season of celebrating Jesus the Christ -- not because of the material gifts but due to the Gift of eternal life.

Merry Christmas to all and may God bless you according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus!

Have You Enjoyed Your Vitamin F?

Why do I have a variety of friends who are all so different in character? How can I get along with them all? I think that [each] one helps to bring out a "different" part of my character.

With all of them I am polite.
I joke with some of them.
I sit down and talk about serious matters with a few of them.
With another I laugh waaay too much until my stomach hurts!
To another, I listen to problems.
Then I seek wise counsel from another.

My friends are like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. When completed, they form a treasure box. A treasure of friends!

They are my friends who understand me (for the most part); who support me through good days and bad days. We pray together and for each other.

Real Age doctors tell us that friends are good for our health. Dr. Oz calls them Vitamin F (for Friends) and counts the benefits of friends as essential to our well being.

Research shows that people [in strong social circles] have less risk of depression and terminal strokes. If you enjoy Vitamin F constantly, you can be up to 30 years younger than your real age.

The warmth of friendship stops stress and even in your most intense moments it decreases the chance of a cardiac arrest or stroke by 50%. Wow!

I'm so happy that I have a stock of Vitamin F!

We should value our “real friends” and keep in touch with them. We should try to see the funny side of things and laugh together, pray for each other, and encourage one another in the tough moments.

Just When You Thought You Knew

"Getting to know people can be a wonderful thing; knowing them can be disappointing"

Why am I sharing this statement with you this morning?  Because I want you to be warned. Look out for wolves in sheep's clothing. (Matthew 7:15)

The people we encounter in our lives seem to mean well. You enjoy their company. Discuss long-term partnerships and friendships. Laughter is in the atmosphere. Joy seems to be all around you until...the real YOU unfolds. Sometimes NOT knowing a person helps you like them a little better but knowing them forces you to love them as Jesus loved us. No one is perfect of course but -- we can strive for excellence and achieve it with the right people in our corner because -- no one becomes successful on their own....

On this side of heaven, I have come to discover many things. I have been known to embrace reality a bit to closely for most people I've encountered. But, that's what keeps me grounded and rooted in the Lord -- reality.  The sad part about my reality is: some view me as too difficult to understand. I have been Used for my gifts and ideas. Pimped for prayers. Misused for my anointing...and the list goes on...

Now I truly have a more profound understanding of how Jesus must have felt...WOW! You want my crown but you don't want to carry my cross...
In this world, there are 3 types of creatures: (1) people who want you to succeed (2) others that do not want you to succeed, and (3) those who do not care one way or the other, as long as THEY are succeeding. I find this to be very disheartening because we should care enough about another person to WANT them to do well. Unfortunately, in this day and age and in this harsh reality, this is NOT the case. It's like -- people speak ill of you, hoping that you fall on your face so that they can laugh and feel superior and say 'I told you so'...'see, they are just like the rest of THEM'...who ever THEY are???

Here's my challenge for you today: Just think -- every time you meet a person on the road to success and encouraged them to keep up the good work, when it's your turn to succeed, you too can receive encouragement to remain successful from another.  Pray that someone is blessed then, YOU just might get a Double portion of the blessing you prayered for someone else...MY -- what a concept!!!

Here lately, it seems as though everyone is fighting for another person's failure instead of their success. I say, find an unselfish way to celebrate someone else's success then maybe you'll be inspired to succeed and excel as well. Just when you thought you knew a person...you come to discover -- you really don't know someone until they die. Then all the "dirt" is revealed. Remain an open book so no one can speak ill of you after you expire.  Live the life you preach about and stop blowing smoke!

Live your dash (-) in a way that people will smile when they think of you or feel good because of your encouragement or remember how they started that business with your encouragement...

It is very important to get to know the people in your life then you can determine if you want them to remain a part of your sphere. This practice is not to slight anyone or make them feel less than but, if they are not helping you to grow then --- you don't need them in your life.

Examine this point of view very carefully -- I do all the time: Assess your assets!  Know the people in your corner. Examine their real motives.  Get to know them [well enough] before you engage in a convenant relationship or a business venture.  Really understand WHO they are and not who you WANT them to be. Who knows, the people in your circle of influence can either become a part of your success or lead you to failure. Something to ponder...

Diversity

I have discovered that one of the best methods in testing diversity in your circle, is to have a different view from the majority. Once your view is skewed as a non-conformist, then ad-versity rears its ugly head and di-versity goes right out of the window.

Hmmm...something to think about when you are in mixed company...

Relationships: Make Them Last Forever...

How DO we handle the stress of dealing with a spouse/partner and our families? What DOES it take to strengthen the relationships? How do we make our relationships last forever? Well, let's define forever:For everlasting time; eternally. Now, since none of us live forever, how about we re-direct the question to: How do we make the relationship last for a lifetime? Glad you've asked!

Here are 5 ways to a successful union (relationship):
#1 Christ-centeredness
Mark 12:30 says this: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. (NIV) Now, if we make God the ultimate love of our lives then He will make it a priority to send us the divine love for our lives. We have to be purposed to be together in order for our relationships to work successfully. Some of us are linked to an illegal soul tie, a relationship that God has not pre-destined nor ordainded to bless. God will not bless any mess so stop asking Him! If your relationships have gone sour, ask God for direction and guidance and I guarantee He will aide you in your request.

#2 Commitment
Hebrews 13:4 says this: Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral (NIV)
Now, ALL is inclusive language. No gender mentioned! So, if you enter into a marriage or covenant relationship, it's best you take that commitment seriously. Don't sleep with your spouse's sister or brother. Don't have relations with your partner's best friend. "Nasty Edna...N-A-S-T-E-E..Nasty!"
Of course, in order to commit, you have to be submissive to your spouse or partner. Not be sub-serviant but submit to one another. You haved to commit to your spouse and not a 3rd, 4th, 5th party....
God does honor the divine and loving commitment we make to our spouses/partners! Better not to commit than to commit, and not honor the commitment.

#3 Communication
Colossians 4:6 says this: Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
How well do you communicate with your spouse/partner? At times, we do not speak the same language therefore, we must define our words of choice. For example; a mouse pad can no longer be considered just a place where a rat/rodent dwells; it's also labeled as a surface to enhance the usability of a computer mouse. In today's society and relationships, our language must be defined and understood. We should speak with certainty and precision. We should be truthful and honest in our communication pratices. Matthew 5:37 says to Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. Amen!

#4 Compromise
Luke 6:31 says this: Treat others the same way you want them to treat you. (NASB)
Don't be so obsessed with getting your OWN advantage. Forget yourself long enough to lend a helping hand to others. It's not all about you. During the holiday season, it's difficult for spouses/partners to support each other's families - because not all families embrace our spouses/partners. If we have the opportunity, we should make concessions for each other. If your family is not accepting of your spouse/partner, create your own traditions such as my spouse and I have and you'll find the compromsing is easier. ("ok honey, you prepare the collard greens or green bean casserole and I'll heat up the turkey"). Sometimes, you have to do your own thing! Oftentimes, we expect too much of others that we are not willing to give of ourselves. How can you get what you are not willing to give??? Give and it shall be given to you...Luke 6:38

#5 Care
Philippians 2:4 says this: do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. (NASB)
Do not let your care and attention be wholly absorbed by your own concerns. Diana Ross challenged us in "Reach Out and Touch" with this question:"...and would I be talking to a stone if I asked you to share a problem that's not your own?" We can definitely begin to change the world around us if we cared enough about each other. Care enough about your spouse/parter to be concerned with their needs. Be conscious of their stengths and weakness. Know what they are good at and know their challenges. We have to move beyond this one-dimentional thinking so that we may enhance our relationships to last the life-time which God intended. In order to grow a garden, you have to care for it. We must manicure our relationships just like we manicure our gardens. It you don't water it, it won't grow to its full potential. Let's get away from this 50/50 relationship idea. There is NO SUCH thang! I say - bring your best 60 and allow your spouse/partner to bring their best 40 then you can look forward to 100% together! Know that we ALL have flaws because we are imperfect people. We cannot expect a perfect relationsip when there are imperfect people involved. Yes relationships can be challenging but they should not be hard or complicated. Of course, God never promised us an easy life; He promised us salvation.

Let's revisit these 5 points on how to "make IT last 4ever":
Christ-centeredness
Commitment
Communication
Compromise
Care
I call these the 5 C's of Grace! Practice these excercises and see how your relationship(s) will be stengthened and long-lasting!

God Will Rescue His People Soon!

Habakkuk 1:2-11

How long, O Lord, must I call for help? But you do not listen! “Violence is everywhere!” I cry, but you do not come to save. Must I forever see these evil deeds? Why must I watch all this misery? Wherever I look, I see destruction and violence. I am surrounded by people who love to argue and fight. The law has become paralyzed, and there is no justice in the courts.

The wicked far outnumber the righteous, so that justice has become perverted. The Lord replied, “Look around at the nations;look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.

I am raising up the Babylonians, a cruel and violent people. They will march across the world and conquer other lands. They are notorious for their cruelty and do whatever they like. Their horses are swifter than cheetahs and fiercer than wolves at dusk. Their charioteers charge from far away. Like eagles, they swoop down to devour their prey.“On they come, all bent on violence. Their hordes advance like a desert wind, sweeping captives ahead of them like sand. They scoff at kings and princes and scorn all their fortresses. They simply pile ramps of earth against their walls and capture them! They sweep past like the wind and are gone. But they are deeply guilty, for their own strength is their god.

Habakkuk 2:4-9(a)Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked.
But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God. Wealth is treachrous, and the arrogant are never at rest. They open their mouths as wide as the grave, and like death, they are never satisfied. In their greed they have gathered up many nations and swallowed many peoples. But soon their captives will taunt them. They will mock them, saying,‘What sorrow awaits you thieves! Now you will get what you deserve!
You’ve become rich by extortion, but how much longer can this go on?’Suddenly, your debtors will take action. They will turn on you and take all you have, while you stand trembling and helpless. Because you have plundered many nations; now all the survivors will plunder you. You committed murder throughout the countryside and filled the towns with violence. What sorrow awaits you who build big houses with money gained dishonestly!
God is on the way children of God so hold on! He is our help in times of storms. He is our comfortor! He is our refuge in times of danger. He is our fortress! Don't give up but give "it" to God! He's our shield and buckler and will fight ALL of our battles. Don't be afraid! Evil will NOT prevail! Whatever the situation or circumstance is, God will work it out! Oh Yes He will! It's already worked out -- just trust Him!!!

God Matters

Chase after the Cross and get your crown. At the end of the rainbow, you will not find gold but you should seek to find God. God matters.

Just when you think that what you have is all you need, then one day wake up and discover that "IT" is not, you have the power to call on God to cancel the illegal debt with "IT"...God matters.

Lean and depend on Him; the Father, our Creator. He is our Strong Tower and Leaning Post. God will not lose ground. His post will not uproot nor tip over if we lean and place the dead weight that keeps some of us bound to a yoke of enslavement to the world. God matters. His love matters. His peace matters. Our joy depends on it!

God matters. He made us and will keep us in His care. He will protect us from the wiles of the enemy and guard us in all of our ways.

God matters. What He says. What He feels about His children. And what He loves...that's it and that's all! God matters. Make sure God is first in your life then watch that artificial light be exposed by the Real Light - that is, Jesus Christ! God matters.

Seeking The Lord in Prayer

I sought the Lord, and he heard me (David); (Doris); (Jane) (Sue) place your name here_________.

When David was exposed to the persecutions of Saul, and when he sought refuge in the country of Abimelech or Achish, at that time, he did not confide in his own wisdom, or trust to any devices of his own, but that he sought the protection and guidance of God, alike when he fled to Gath, and when he fled from Gath.

God will deliver us from all our fears! From all that David apprehended from Saul, and again from all that he dreaded when he found that Abimelech would not harbor him, but drove him from him, the Lord swept his griefs away. Prayer can clear us of troubles if we seek God for protection.

Anytime we're faced with danger, we should pray to God and ask Him to deliver us from the hands of our Enemies. Believe me, God will do it if you trust Him. You must believe in order to receive so -- call on Him and see how Good He really is! Surely He will save us from the fowler's snare..Ps 91:3

God, we Thank You for opening the doors for CRock to reach those who have not accepted their right to salvation and missing out on a personal relationship with Christ. Thank YOU for creating a new venue for others to experience the enthusiasm of genuine fellowship each week! Thank YOU for allowing us to reach out to others who are lost and want to be found. Thank YOU for helping us reach those who are seeking for a place to experience "unmasked" worship, acceptance and spiritual growth.

Thank you for all the challenges we've faced for the victories we've won this year! YOU, oh God, IS our God, YOU are the Headship of our church and we will follow YOUR commands as YOU lead us in the paths of righteouness!

Lord, Thank YOU for being our Source! Thank You for keeping your promises to supply all that we need according to YOUR riches in glory by Christ Jesus! Thank YOU for allowing Church of the Solid Rock to be a re-source to those who have been tossed aside or rejected by "main stream" church folks and so-ciety. What Does It Means To Be A Father?

Father's Day is approaching Sunday June 19. And although my earthly father has gone on to be with our Heavenly Father, his spirit is still with me and I will celebrate his legacy; not only that day but for the rest of my life. No, his absence does not alleviate me missing him; and although he was my biggest fan and support, I know he is one of my guardian angels watching over me. Thank you God!!!

A father means honor, strength, discipline, wisdom, courage, faith, love, commitment, perseverance, presence. The list can go on and on but I'll stop there. I'm sure being a father can be an awesome yet overwhelming privilege and can distort these roles. I'm sure knowing that you are the "bread-winner" or sometimes the primary care-giver can be taxing and scary but our Heavenly Father will give you the strength and stamina to succeed [as a father] so just keep on trusting in God for all you need and these vital roles will come easier to fulfill.

As a daughter, my paternal father was a real father in every sense of the word. (I'm not reducing or discounting the term dad but "dad" does not always have to be a child's biological father). A "father" is fully engaged and involved and offers [developmentally] to specific provisions to their child/children throughout their lives and are even impacted [themselves] by their doing so."

"A father handles his business without complaining about how much it will cost, how much work it takes, how often that his presence is important or how sacrificial his role." A father does not keep account of what he spends nor brags about it; he just does it because that's apart of his role.

My dad never complained about being a father because he knew that if he helped to create a life, he was also responsible for helping to take care of that life. My father knew that being a father meant that someone is depending upon him for their well-being and for setting a positive example. My father didn't stick out his chest when it was convenient or during "man-talk" but he showed his love for his children by unselfishly caring for us, which was FAR more important than any amount of money, position or social status.

"Money, neither position nor social status can take the place of real love. All these categories are finite and temporal but love is everlasting."

July 2010, in an exclusive interview with Yahoo News and The Huffington Post, Warren Buffett credited his success to his father for teaching him how to live, and explained that all parents can make a "better human being" by offering their children unconditional love: "The power of unconditional love. I mean, there is no power on earth like unconditional love. And I think that if you offered that to your child, I mean you’re 90 percent of the way home. There may be days when you don’t feel like it, it’s not uncritical love, that’s a different animal, but to know you can always come back, that is huge in life. That takes you a long, long way. And I would say that every parent out there that can extend that to their child at an early age, it’s going to make for a better human being." Wow, what a POWERFUL testimony!

When I was a little girl, my father was one of my biggest earthly influences, other than my mother. Bud Deckard taught me to depend on God and my God-given abilities. He also taught me to save some money for a rainy day (because the rain will come). He also advised me to spend money when necessary and not try to keep up or impress others. Keep some pocket- change handy for emergencies and have one reliable friend that I can call upon no matter what the circumstance. He also taught me to pay my bills and pay them ON TIME . Do not borrow money you know you can't pay back. He taught me to live within my current means and life will be kind to me. He was right. "Life is kind because I'm not trying to keep up with others but staying ahead." Amen! These are great lessons for life and should be taught, especially by influential fathers. Simple and biblical principles should also be instilled in children and fathers should set forth a positive Christian and responsible example for their child/children to follow.

Lying, deceptive practices and pretense does NOT set forth a good example. Lip service is just jaw-jacking and anybody can do that! Fathers need to be about what you preach, how you teach and careful of your steps. Follow God first and His biblical guidelines (not human's standards) then be that father you say you are then fatherhood will become easier and more fulfilling for you.

Even though life is neither always easy nor pleasant, nothing and NO ONE should take your place as a father in the life of your child/children. Time lost can never be regained and trust is a faithful and teachable friend. BUT, if you live opposite of them, then you can only expect disappointment and trouble.

If you live by biblical principles and set good examples then you will leave your mark [in this life] with dignity, honor and integrity in Christ. BE a father, a mentor, a friend. Don’t just talk about it...BE about it! Let's back this lesson up with scripture:

Proverbs - Chapter 3:1-12

1. My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,
2. for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.
3. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
4. then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
5. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6. in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
7. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.
8. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
9. Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10. then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
11. My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline and do not resent his rebuke,
12. because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.

No Need to Sweat "The Bottom Line"

"His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor His delight in the legs of a man; the Lord delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love." - Psalm 147:10

Mammon and power are the ruling strongholds of the workplace. If you possess either of these, then you will be courted by those who serve the workplace in hopes of increasing market share. It is a competitive environment that often gives way to decisions and actions that are dictated by the financial bottom line.

A recent newspaper article stated that employers are requiring workers to put more time into their jobs, often requiring weekend work in order to be more competitive. For the Christian worker, this brings pressures on the family and will result in "lost market share" in the spiritual realm.

The Lord has a different measuring stick.

The Lord is not impressed with our ability or what we can do for Him. Only one thing delights Him -- people who fear Him and put their hope in His unfailing love.

What does it mean to fear God and place our hope in His love? It means we acknowledge that God is the source of all that we are. He is the one who gives us the ability to work, plan, and execute. He does not want us to look to our abilities, but to His abilities. Sometimes it is difficult to balance these two perspectives. However, if we ask God to show us how to maintain this balance, He will do it.

Put your hope in His unfailing love today. Then you will know that your heavenly Father is looking on you as a proud Father. No need to sweat the "the bottom line" because God said that he would supply ALL of our needs according to HIS riches and glory by Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19

Be Careful of Your Associations

The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve. Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity.

An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people. As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are.

Friends that don't help you climb will want you to crawl. Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream. Those that don't increase you will eventually decrease you. God forbid!

Consider this:
Never receive counsel from unproductive people. Ps 1:1 Never discuss your problems with someone incapable of contributing to the solution, because those who never succeed themselves are always first to tell you how.

Not everyone has a right to speak into your life. Amen! You are certain to get the worst of the bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person. Don't follow anyone who's not going anywhere. If they are "blind", then how can they lead YOU?

With some people you spend an evening. With others you invest it and spend a lifetime. Be careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life. Wise is the person who fortifies his life with the right friendships. If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl. But, if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.

"A mirror reflects a person's face, but what that person is really like, is shown by the kind of friends that person chooses." The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom you closely associate - for the good and bad.

Note: Be not mistaken. This is applicable to family as well as friends. Love and appreciate both. Be thankful for your family, for they will always be your family no matter what. Just know that they are human first. And though they are family to you, they may be a better friend to someone else and will fit somewhere in the criteria above.

Are You Living In "Peace"?

Work at living in peace with everyone...

How do you follow peace? The Bible tells us to work AT living in peace with everyone. But sometimes people act a pure fool, hurt our feelings, and do us much wrong; and sometimes we want to declare WAR! Should we be wimps and let people run all over us? No! But, we have to make sure that we handle things in love and never intentionally try to get back at people -- no matter how bad they do us; we must always deal with them in love.

God never desires us to fight our own battles or punish people for their actions - He will handle that!!! But there is something about following peace that automatically punishes people for their wrongdoings.

Remember when you were young, and there was always a popular person in school; someone that you liked haning out with because they made you feel protected or special? You could get people's attention if you were seen with that person or people would think better of you -- and no one would dare give you a hard time because they knew that this person would have your back! Well, imagine hanging out with "Peace" like that.

Imagine if "Peace" was a special person. Imagine following this person around everywhere they go. People will start reacting differently and treating you with more respect AND wanting your company. People will look at you walking with and in "peace" and know that you ARE special. Even when everyone and everything around you is in turmoil, if you are following "Peace", people will follow you; AND you would not have to worry about getting back at people or people bothering you because "Peace" WILL have your back!

Follow "Peace" and you will also be followed BY peace instead of agitation, distress, frustration, worry and trouble. Peace is the One and His name is Jesus! "And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6) Amen.

Lord, lift us up and grant us peace this day. Let your dunamis power overtake us, and hold every thought captive, that is not like You. Lord, Grant us healing this day as we walk in Your will for our lives. Guide and direct our steps Lord. Keep us for all unrighteousness for Your Name sake.

God, I thank you for sending Jesus to die for us. Father keep us all until we can assemble, as believers, to praise and worship You again and again. In the matchless name of Christ, Amen!

Morning Prayer

Thank You Lord for waking us up this morning. Thank You for allowing us to face a new day that was not promised. Thank You for what you've done to keep us safe from dangers seen and unseen. Thank You for keeping us during these seasons of trial and tribulations.

As Believers, we come before You thanking You for everything, asking for nothing but Your continued mercy and grace. Thank You for Your pre-ordained blessings and favor. As obedient servants, allow us the freedom to operate as righteous Christians and give us discernment to walk away from immoral and unethical practices, as Your will is done. Be with us this day Lord, as we walk in the Light of Christ, reaching those who are lost and touching those who might need a kind word from You. We all need Your help to survive this earthly life and dwell in the heavenly life to come.

Give us the peace [each day] that surpasseth ALL understanding and help us to stand firm on your Word, even when the world is against us. Guide our steps Lord, and cover us as we walk the narrow path to victory! In Christ, we pray, Amen!

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day the state of Alabama, whose governor's lips are presently dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, will be transformed into a situation where little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls and walk together as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi.
From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!

"I Have a Dream" is a seventeen minute public speech by Martin Luther King, Jr., in which he called for racial equality and an end to discrimination. King's delivery of the speech on August 28, 1963, from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, was a defining moment of the American Civil Rights Movement. Delivered to over 200,000 civil rights supporters, [1] the speech was ranked the top American speech of the 20th century by a 1999 poll of scholars of public address.

According to U.S. Representative John Lewis, who also spoke that day as the President of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee, "Dr. King had the power, the ability, and the capacity to transform those steps on the Lincoln Memorial into a monumental area that will forever be recognized. By speaking the way he did, he educated, he inspired, and he informed not just the people there, but people throughout America and unborn generations."

Martin Luther King, Jr., (January 15, 1929-April 4, 1968) was born Michael Luther King, Jr., but later had his name changed to Martin. His grandfather began the family's long tenure as pastors of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, serving from 1914 to 1931; his father has served from then until the present, and from 1960 until his death Martin Luther acted as co-pastor.

Martin Luther attended segregated public schools in Georgia, graduating from high school at the age of fifteen; he received the B. A. degree in 1948 from Morehouse College, a distinguished Negro institution of Atlanta from which both his father and grandfather had graduated.

After three years of theological study at Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania where he was elected president of a predominantly white senior class, he was awarded the B.D. in 1951. With a fellowship won at Crozer, he enrolled in graduate studies at Boston University, completing his residence for the doctorate in 1953 and receiving the degree in 1955. In Boston he met and married Coretta Scott, a young woman of uncommon intellectual and artistic attainments. Two sons and two daughters were born into the family.

In 1954, Martin Luther King became pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. Always a strong worker for civil rights for members of his race, King was, by this time, a member of the executive committee of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the leading organization of its kind in the nation. He was ready, then, early in December, 1955, to accept the leadership of the first great Negro nonviolent demonstration of contemporary times in the United States, the bus boycott described by Gunnar Jahn in his presentation speech in honor of the laureate. The boycott lasted 382 days.

On December 21, 1956, after the Supreme Court of the United States had declared unconstitutional the laws requiring segregation on buses, Negroes and whites rode the buses as equals. During these days of boycott, King was arrested, his home was bombed, he was subjected to personal abuse, but at the same time he emerged as a Negro leader of the first rank.

In 1957 he was elected president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, an organization formed to provide new leadership for the now burgeoning civil rights movement. The ideals for this organization he took from Christianity; its operational techniques from Gandhi. In the eleven-year period between 1957 and 1968, King traveled over six million miles and spoke over twenty-five hundred times, appearing wherever there was injustice, protest, and action; and meanwhile he wrote five books as well as numerous articles.

In these years, he led a massive protest in Birmingham, Alabama, that caught the attention of the entire world, providing what he called a coalition of conscience. and inspiring his "Letter from a Birmingham Jail", a manifesto of the Negro revolution; he planned the drives in Alabama for the registration of Negroes as voters; he directed the peaceful march on Washington, D.C., of 250,000 people to whom he delivered his address, "l Have a Dream", he conferred with President John F. Kennedy and campaigned for President Lyndon B. Johnson; he was arrested upwards of twenty times and assaulted at least four times; he was awarded five honorary degrees; was named Man of the Year by Time magazine in 1963; and became not only the symbolic leader of American blacks but also a world figure.

At the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize. When notified of his selection, he announced that he would turn over the prize money of $54,123 to the furtherance of the civil rights movement.

On the evening of April 4, 1968, while standing on the balcony of his motel room in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was to lead a protest march in sympathy with striking garbage workers of that city, he was assassinated.

Let us remember the roads that Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King paved for us. He put his life on the line. He took risks. He challenged the injustices in this nation and he was able to accomplish great lengths in this society in which we live. MLK gave much more than what most people are willing to give but we must try. We must get back to bold leadership in this nation; not only for our national freedoms but for our spiritual freedoms.

Yes, we can remember and pay homage to Dr. King and the legacy he left behind but let us NEVER forget the ultimate sacrifice of the One who died for every person of every nation. Jesus paved the way for all of us to have freedom of speech and freedom to live our lives. Let us live responsibly for Christ as we celebrate our freedoms in Him! The Apostle Pauls says that we are free to do all things, but there are things which it is not wise to do. We are free to do all things, but not all things are for the common good. (1 Corinthians 10:23) Let us do things for the common good of all people, especially those who belong to Christ.

We are indeed free if we are in Christ. No longer are WE a slave to sin and eternal death! As the scripture says in John 8:32 & 36 …Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are FREE at last!

Happy New Year Saints!

May God continue to bless and keep us through out 2011, as we continue to walk in His will! Today, be led to bless someone with a smile or a kind word. Be a light and not a dark cloud. Be a positive witness for Christ and not just give out lip service. Let "them" see the God in you!

Most of all, tell somebody about the Good News! Jesus saves and God provides all we need. The Lord will give us our daily bread if only we believe He will. Just try God and you'll experience unconditional love. Trust God then you'll begin to see the promise of possibilities. Believe on Jesus Christ and God will not withhold anything good from you that's good for you.

Preparing for a New Season

Well Saints,

We are approaching a new decade, a new season and a fresh start in 2011. Time to recycle and de-clutter our spiritually lives while stream-lining our day-to-day processes. It's time to clean up our homes and rid them from debris and items that are sitting around taking up space. Time to salvage belongings that collect dust; instead, use them for the purpose in which we possessed them. Give something away to a person that may be in need. Share your blessings and resources because as you give, you will also receive...but...make it good. Remember, you reap what you sow...

It's time to set practical goals and create a much needed to-do-list in order to better prepare for our journeys ahead. It's time to reflect on how we've grown and not regret where we are not. None of us have truly "arrived" yet but it's always good to press toward where we are trying to go, and pre-plan on how to get there, as we seek God's guidance for an expected end.

As we look back on this decade, we've experienced and witnessed wars, catastrophes without explanation, and elected our first bi-racial US President (that we know of). We've lost loved ones and friends but, all is not lost because we have hope. As we move into this season of era and newness, set aside some time [each day] to visit more with God. Seek the Lord like you've never sought Him before. Love on your spouses and children (for real),but as a Christ-leader. Live in your own happiness and refrain from living vicariously through others. Find yourself a true heart-love and stop falling for a carnal love that is unhealthy for you. YOU DESERVE BETTER so demand better!!!

Look closely at your current status and seek to build something good from where you are. Pray and trust that God will answer you according to your heart's motive and not your mind's message. (It's not what you think you want but what God knows you need). Believe that ALL things are possible with Christ and that NOTHING is too hard for God.

God willing, and we all reach this New Year of 2011, I pray that we celebrate in Christ and become a new creature, being born all over again. Let us remember our past, not as a regret, but as a lesson. And as we all anticipate brighter days to come, let us thank God for seeing us through another year.

May the Lord watch over us [His children] and aide us in caring for our families as we walk into new mercies of unexpected promises and unmerited favor, as God's will is done in our lives. Never forget that our future is secure in Him. Happy New Year!!!

Reaching Beyond the Walls...

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same

Our church recently visited the Union Gospel Mission in Dallas Texas. We enjoyed an evening of service by serving the children of God who happen to be in between their blessings. These men were "homeless" and [to me] this equates to "not having their "own" residence to call home." These men rely on the assistance of the UGM to aid them in food, shelter and education. I learned a valuable reminder that these guys could be any of us...no one is exempt from hard times. The one thing that brought me solace was, SOMEONE was there to lend a helping hand.

The UGM is there to lend a "helping" hand and not a hand out. In this lesson on today, the rewards of giving to the poor and needy can be endless.

Christian charity is wonderful to practice and we whom give liberally, will draw other liberal givers to help us when we get stuck. God will always send us some help! A person who is kind to the poor will draw others who are ready to help.

I believe that God will draw divine givers to help our church too!

Without the spirit of giving, division and discord takes over; injury develops then anger follows and laughter ceases; vengeance and dissolution runs ramped then confusion becomes the new faith....we disconnect and are often spiritually destroyed from discontentment.

God is telling us that when we give liberally, we will obtain abundance according to His good measures.... Remember He loves a cheerful giver.... 2 Corinthians 9:7 The Lord is our Shepherd and we shall not be in need....

Be blessed in this season of Christ-mas!

Get To Know God...All Over Again...

The only way to know someone is to spend time with them. The only way to discern the voice of another is to hear their voice often. David understood the principle of connecting with God. He connect with God's love, renewed his trust in Him, and heard directions for his life. Shouldn't you and I do the same?

Will you wait silently on God or will you kick up dust only to find yourselves covered in soot instead of clothed in His promises? Do you expect anything from God?
Aren't you ready to know the One whom created you? Well, wait on Him and you won't miss your opportunity to really fall in love...over and over again!

Increase of Grace

So many people today live in guilt and condemnation over their past mistakes and wrongdoings. They have this attitude that they are too far gone or they’ve made too many mistakes. They think that if they walk into church, the roof will cave in. Friend, if that’s you, nothing could be further from the truth! It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, it doesn’t matter where you’ve been; God’s grace is enough. Scripture says that we are saved “by faith through grace.” Grace is His unmerited favor upon you. You can’t earn it no matter how “good” you act, but He’s offering it to you as a free gift. His grace is what empowers you to change and live the life He’s called you to.

Today, don’t live another minute in regret, condemnation, heaviness or despair. Receive His grace. It’s as easy as opening your heart and inviting Him to change your life. Remember, there’s nothing you could ever do that His grace can’t bring you through. So open your heart to Him and receive it today! "Remember, don't sin just to receive the grace but know that WHEN you sin, ask forgivness and refrain from THAT sin again. God's grace will take hold of that sin and wash it away then you'll begin again, with a clean slate of Promise."

Traps or Facts - Whose Report Will You Believe?

This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing.

The Bible states that hostile questioners tried to trap Jesus into taking an explicit and dangerous stand on whether Jews should or should not pay taxes to the Roman occupation. They anticipated that Jesus would oppose the tax, for Luke’s Gospels explains their purpose was “to hand him over to the power and authority of the governor.”[3] The governor was Pilate, and he was the man responsible for the collecting of Rome's taxes in Judea.

At first the questioners flattered Jesus by praising his integrity, impartiality and devotion to truth. Then they asked him whether or not it is right for Jews to pay the taxes demanded by Caesar.

In the gospel of Mark, the additional, truly provocative question is asked, "Should we pay or shouldn't we?" [4] Jesus first called them hypocrites, and then asked one of them to produce a Roman coin that would be suitable for paying Caesar’s tax. One of them showed him a Roman coin, and he asked them whose name and inscription were on it. They answered, “Caesar’s,” and he responded “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and give to God what is God’s.” His interrogators were flummoxed by this authoritative (though ambiguous) answer and left disappointed.

This is what happens when we [humankind] fail to place our trust and hope in God, our Father, our Creator. When something doesn't go our way, we "immediately" switch sides and go with what "sounds" good.

Now, to switch gears a bit: I typically try to remain neutral when it comes to politics but sometimes you have to express conerns and step into "another realm of ministry." Americans: We need to respect our current President a little better. This is downright embarassing! The man is only human - he is NOT God!

Bad-mouthing and riduculing him only adds to the many challenges that he already has to face. Do I agree with EVERY decision that any politician concludes? Absolutely NOT! No one agrees with EVERYTHING! If that were the case, we wouldn't need lawyers,right!

If we fail to offer solutions, then consider yourselves to be a part of the problem. I have found that it's best to be quiet about certain matters in order to reduce the flames. Excercise your right to VOTE and clearly express your convictions instead of blasting the President of the US-A. If you didn't VOTE - then please be QUIET!!! Don't complain if you fail to excercise your freedom to vote. Find a way to make positive change! VOTE!

Sure we are all in this struggle together but we did not get into this mess overnight; and it's not going to be resolved overnight either. It's just like anything else...it takes TIME! Everthing is made beautiful in its time so, let's take the time and make that happen. But, it's going to take ALL of US-A to make that happen and not just ONE man - but all of Ameri-humi-cans.

Will we ever all agree - NO --but, we can all agree on one thing - this economy could use some improvement. But, everyone is NOT struggling because WE (Americans) are steady building, spending, inventing, shopping, attending championship games (Super Bowl, World Series...etc). The sports stadiums are full on Sundays and Monday nights, etc. - so are we really that bad off??? I don't think so...

Let's give ALL of our gov't a chance to change (Dems, Reps and Inds) but give it time. Patience IS truly a virtue. We can't always believe everything we see or hear BUT we can trust that our Creator God, will only allow so much foolishness to go on - then He steps in and corrects, rebukes, reproves then He RESTORES!

Having a strong gov't is good. We need certain laws that help to better govern us. My thought has always been -- "the laws are really made for the law-less" and God is allowing some law-less folks to be in a power but God allows them a certain level of power to get our attention. Does God have YOUR attention yet? God's people need to WAKE UP! We have been asleep for TOO long. We've forgotten about God because now we've arrived. We have NOT arrived because we are still divided!

God is trying to tell us that HE is STILL in control - regardless of what "OTHERS" may think and regardless of who is in charge. Our days [here on earth] are numbered; our earthly lives are finite but eternal lives will live with God [if you have accepted His Son].

No one man or woman controls everything - only what GOD allows.
Some of us are too focused on temporal matters instead of eternal interests. Build Your Hopes on Things Eternal! Philippeans 3:21

Stop the Hate!

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Romans 13:1

Bashing our leaders does not solve the problem. When you pray against or speak ill of someone you dislike or disagree with, just look closer in the mirror and ask??...am I reaping or sowing??? What am I sowing and what will I reap??? Good or evil? I pray the former for all of us.

As long as I've followed politics, the 'game' has not changed; only the players. Each person is responsible for making sure their part is done and aid in amending the internal affairs of this great nation. We each must be responsible enough to make the best choice for the good of ALL people and not just a "poli-party" or group. And eventhough we most often agree to disagree, we can still seek for change in this country, which makes it a whole lot easier to help each other.

We are ALL Americans - regardless of race, creed or need. We ALL need to play a role in making this country a greater nation in which we live. When we do, we can some-what heal from "learned hurts" of the past, and are able to heed our earthly callings.

Remember, the REAL change begins with Y-O-U! Without U, there is no US-A!

"We can't stand as a nation unless we unite as a people." Will YOU be willing to unite and stand (strong) or remain divided and fall with a mighty crash!?!?!?

A burglar broke into a house one night. He shined his flashlight around, looking for valuables when a voice in the dark said, 'Jesus knows you're here.'

He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight off, and froze. When he heard nothing more, after a bit, he shook his head and continued.

Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard 'Jesus is watching you.'

Morning Prayer

Good morning Lord, Maker of the heavens and earth,

Thank you for this day. Thank You for a restful night and for my rising this morning, clothed in my Right mind! Thank you for the replenished favor! Thank You for the love You've shown me and Your children here on earth. Thank You Jesus for teaching us how to prayer - "Our Father." Thank You God for dwelling in the Holy Seat and capturing the very essence of our prayers. How can there be any other Name above Yours to call on? Your name is above ALL names; we honor and we call on Yahweh this day! This IS the day that You have made. This is a day we've never seen this one before and we Thank You for allowing us to see it! Thank You for protecting us [Your children] Lord, and may Your shield continue to surround us with that protection until we depart from this earth-world and enter into Your dwelling in Heaven.

Lord today, I ask nothing too difficult of You because You CAN do all things BUT fail! And so today Lord, I ask Your continued blessings upon us, Your children. I ask that You keep Your Mighty Hands on us! I ask that You continue to cover us with the Blood of Jesus! I ask that Your Blood will cover our door posts. I pray that Your Spirit will remain with us. I pray that Your Promises will continue in us!

Lord, help us to recognize that none are perfect and that as humans we will err; Lord, help us to refrain from those subtle sins that can creep in and slowly poison our souls and spirits; our heart and minds. Our lives are in constant danger but as long as we have You in our corner, why should we fear any human- for in Your Word You have taught us that You are our Helper so what can any human do to us, Your children??? Hebrews 13:6 I know that NOTHING happens out of Your will so I ask Lord that what-ever YOUR will is for our lives, let that be done in Jesus' name!

Help us to avoid subtle idolatry that creep in and become entrainment for Your children. Help us Lord to avoid embracing anything that might give Your children false hope. Jer 14:14

Lord, teach those who might not have much hope, to hope in You Lord.

You have taught us in Your Word not to be impressed by witchcraft and sorcery. 2 Chr 33:6

The Enemy has repackaged sin to make those evil things appealing to the carnal eye as well as keep us entertained when we're bored with the monotony of life. Help us Lord to know that ALL supernatural powers come from YOU and You alone. Help us Lord God to know that YOUR Power is made perfect during our times of weakness and that YOU along can revive a dying soul and save one too! YOU alone are Holy and Righteous enough to do good at all times. You along, oh God is Sovereign and we have NO power without You - so we ask You to give us POWER over a powerless situation. We ask You Lord to give us courage when we have been discouraged. We ask You Lord to help Christians stand their ground in a sinful world, not giving in to temptation but yielding to Your will for our lives. We ask you Lord to help us keep our lives pure and to keep us from stumbling around in the dark.

Yahweh, help us to walk in Your will. Help us to walk in Your way. Show us The Way. Teach us how to understand Your Word more clearer so that we may follow it, finding NO excuses for not knowing it.

Lord, help us to know that no human being can do anything successful unless You ordain it. And if You do not ordain it, it will not be so. Lord God, help us to understand that real success is knowing who Jesus is, in the pardoning of sin. Our greatest victory is in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. And our ultimate goal should be to one day be with YOU in Paradise. Not to impress our families, friends or foes. Not to chase our tails or be chased by false dreams. Not to live like the Devil during the week then have the nerve to praise God on Sundays. Help us Lord to REAL with one another. Help us Lord to be true to one another. Keep us from selfish gain! Keep us from hurting others that need HELP! Keep people from bath-mouthing Your children Lord! Keep us from all evil and strife. Keep it away from us too, in Jesus name.

As children of the Cross, we seek and search for direction from You Lord. Guide our steps. Direct our paths to GREATNESS! As children of the Cross, we want to be more like You Lord. As faithful servants, we want to receive our reward in Heaven Lord; so we ask You to help us stay on the right track and remain in YOUR will; not our own will but Thine will be done! Help us to lean and depend MORE on YOU God.

Lord, there is so much chaos and confusion going on in today's world but it's just a SIGN of the times. Lord, I can only imagine how tired You are of all the foolishness that people love to engage in. Lord, You must be tired of the HATE that people love to practice - when You Lord have taught us to LOVE one another such as Jesus loved us. You've taught us to hate what is evil and love what is good but today's earth-world hate was is good and love what is evil. Help us to detox and cleanse our spirits from all the gunk build-up. We have been constipated with so many worldly things until we can seem to find room for Spiritual things. Lord, help us to get back to The Good Book and follow the healthy, hopeful and faithful guidelines. Help us to love the sinner but hate the the sinful nature of them that practice sin. We know that everything is permissible but not everything edifies. 1 Cor 10:23 We want to do everything for the good of others not for selfish and empty motives to please ourselves. Help us Lord. Help us Lord to please and serve YOU!!!

Thank You Lord for showing me who is real about You and who is NOT real about You. Thank You for me true and faithful family and friends. Thank You for pruning me. Thank You for manicuring my temple. Thank You for allowing me to blossom in love and faith.

Thank you for teaching and training me to recognize the false prophets [thus far] that are in this earth-world. Mat 7:22-23

Thank You Lord for teaching me how to test "every spirit" 1 Jn 4:1

I ask you Lord, in the name of Jesus, that You continue to cover me and my Christian families in these days of evil; and to continue Your protection and blessings in, over and through our lives. Thank you for waking us up this morning, to face a new day of hope and promise. Thank you for allowing us another chance to live life for You. Thank you for being God and Lord over our lives and in our homes. Thank you for every perfect gift that you have given to us, to use for Your glory. I pray that we use our gifts responsibly and willingly for YOU!

Thank you for seeing us through another Monday because we know that Monday's can be challenging, especially with all the traffic and careless drivers on the road. Thank you for keeping us safe on the freeway, tolls, highways, roads and streets. Thank you for getting us safely to our destinations each day. Thank you for protecting our homes each day. Thank you for providing those of us with a place of employment; and for those who are without employment God, I pray that you supply all their needs as you have promised in Your Word. Philippians 4:19 Help them to hold on because Help is on the way....be it a new place of employment or a new business venture that you have called forth in this season.

Lord, be with the families this week. Keep us on one accord in Christ. Help us to be kind and understanding to each other. Help us to not get so angry and lose our tempers or harm one another by thought, word or deed. Keep the families safe this week Lord. Cover our households with the blood of Christ so that the angel of confusion (Satan) will pass on by because he'll see the blood of Christ that covers us. WE know that the Enemy can't go through The Blood!

Lord, as we move through this week, help us to be and do our best; to show love for one another as you have loved us; to pardon one another as you have pardoned us; to give grace to one another as you have given to us and to correct one another in righteousness if we see another Christian going astray; or a lost sheep that's been put out to pasture, only to be slaughtered by the Enemy; Lord help us introduce them to Christ so that they can be saved like us. Lord, help us to be the best Christians we can be and to serve one another in the spirit of excellence and truth.

Lord, be with us this day; and as we enter our workplace, help us to be more helpful and be a better team player than we were yesterday. Help us to display extra-ordinary patience toward our co-workers, especially those that may be obstinate in nature or appear to be less friendlier than us. Help US to smile so we can pass it on to someone with a frown. Lord, as we enter the buildings where we work, help us to greet one another in the elevator, even if we work on different floors or for different companies. Be with us Lord, as we do our best, with the skills we've been given, and to complete our tasks as we operate in the Light of Christ. This prayer we lift up to You, as we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.

Alas, even some believers act this way but God makes it clear that our relationship with Him should be the focus of our lives and not for the folly of others. Once we really focus on God, that will change our entire outlook on how we live before God and others. This new mindset will transform our thinking and actions --our goals and standards -- our motives and priorities. The new creature puts away old things...II Corinthians 5:17

The Bible tells us that God's people represent Him (and not just on Sundays). That means, we need to be trustworthy, always keeping our word (let your yes be yes....) and being as honest as possible (I know this is hard when you're trying to be someone else). Sadly, some people don't understand these truths. The feel justified in resorting to deception; saying or doing what they need to gain the advantage -- even as far as deliberately LYING to look good. Some are willing to ignore or even violate God's Word if they feel this would bring them gain or benefit(s).

What is the basis for this kind of deceit? It stems from sin in our hearts for we have acted unfaithfully against our Lord. It's what's in our hearts that matters. 1 Sam 16:7; Luke 6:45

Today, let's remember to make God and His Word our true foundation and not the shaky ground this world provides. Focus on what REALLY matters and do not be distracted by deceit. God's Word should be your foundational focus in life. Seek to please HIM! Serve God and obey His commandments (love Him and love your neighbor). Be on guard against any temptation and refrain from cheating and deception. After all, what's done in secret....Luke 12: 2-3

Today, ask God to free you from practicing deception. Ask God to free you deception and from that spirit to willfully sin. Ask God to aide you in faithfulness and stand firm to your convictions. Be honest in your actions, attitudes and words. Speak the truth! And ye shall know the truth...John 8:32

Prayer: Dear Lord, search my heart and expose any areas of deceit. Lord, help me to speak the truth in love and to be a FAITHFUL witness....a TRUTHFUL witness....a POSITIVE witness so that others my see the REAL Jesus in me. In the Light of Christ, Amen!

Be Careful What You Pray For

The Prayer of Jabez:

"And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested." 1 Chron. 4:10

What are you asking God for today? What type of blessings would you request? Enlarge your coast - how? Do you really want God to keep you from evil? Do you REALLY believe God will grant that which you have requested?

Oftentimes, I ask these exact questions myself; and the answer is YES I want God to bless and keep me from evil. Yes, I want God to enlarge my capacity to learn and teach, reach and achieve and NO, I do not want to be in pain due to my own infliction choices.

Of course, those who Believe, wants God to bless BUT what type of blessings are we asking for? What if God grants the blessing then you discover that you weren't really ready for? Hmmmm??? We have to be careful what we ask God for. Sometimes God has to show us that we are really not ready...maturity is still shallow...mindset is unstable...not ready for that huge responsibility.

We THINK we want that executive position, only to discover that we are really working harder trying to make our mark instead of just "pushing a pen"...
We THINK we want to become parents until we discover that parenting does NOT come with a manual and that the children are not disciplined and out of control!!
We THINK we want to become home owners until we find out that maintaining the home could cost as much as the monthly mortgage payments (over a period of time)...
Think you're ready for a new love & relationship but discovered the old one worked just fine - you just had to put some work into it???

Remember, when you pray, be sure to pray for all the right reasons. Your heart must be sincere and your level of maturity says you're ready for the blessing. Remember the old cliche' ...'be careful what you pray for 'cause you just might get it'....

I am very careful to pray with a sincere heart; to petition my requests to God carefully because I want to be sure that I am ready [in maturity and of sound mind] to handle the blessings...to avoid "losing my head"...thinking that I have arrived...avoiding the evils of this world...

God loves a humble servant - not a prideful fool.

Be thankful in all things. Always pray with a sincere and mature heart. After all, God knows our motives so make sure you're praying for all the right reasons and God will grant your blessed requests, such as He did for Jabez...and that blessing will not be a burden but a real blessing!

Are you ready? Are you sure? Then GO FOR IT!

The New Testament teaches that the resurrection of Jesus, which Easter celebrates, is a foundation of the Christian faith. The resurrection established Jesus as the powerful Son of God and is cited as proof that God will judge the world in righteousness. God has given Christians "a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead". Christians, through faith in the working of God are spiritually resurrected with Jesus so that they may walk in a new way of life.

God has given you salvation...will you accept the invitation or reject the opportunity to live with Christ for all eternity? The table has been set and you have been invited to the feast. Come...be fed...and be filled!

2. Dress Up! The best way to dress up is to put on a God-smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. The Lord does not look at things the way humans do...
Man looks at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart." I Sam 16:7

3. Shut Up! (be quiet) Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening and less talking...
"He who guards his lips guards his soul." Prv 13:3
"...a time to be quiet and a time to speak" Ecc 3:7(b)

4. Stand up! Stand for something good or you will fall for anything...
"Let us not be weary in doing good for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..." Gal 6:9-10

5. Look up! Look up to the Lord...
"I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me." Phil 4:13

6. Reach up! Reach for something higher...
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." Prv 3:5-6

7. Lift up! Life up your prayers to God...
"Do not worry about anything;instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING." Phil 4:6

Tea for Two

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me. I was maybe 2 1/2 years old and had just recovered from an accident.

Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a get-well gift and it was one of my favorite toys. Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I broug...ht Daddy a little cup of 'tea', which was just water.

After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home. My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea because it was 'just the cutest thing!'

My Mom waited, & sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea 4 Daddy & she watches him drink it up. Then she says, (as only a mother would know) 'Did it ever occur 2 u that the only place she can reach 2 get water is the toilet?

Lol pass this on for a little laugh!

Serving Real People in Ministry

There is a strange sort of phenomenon that occurs the longer someone works within the context of Church Leadership. It's almost as inevitable as Sunday coming every week.

The phenomenon goes something like this: The more you do a great job of leading people, the more people are attracted to you and your church. The more that people are attracted and get connected to your church, the more it grows. The more the number of people at your church grows...the further you get from them.

The very thing that was essential to your growth (Ministering to people) is now a system, a strategy, an abstraction...an idea??? "This is inevitable", you tell yourself. "I simply can't be with all these people because I'm too busy with ministry "stuff all the time." There's only one of me and more and more of them, something has to give." So over time, we replace Actual people with the Idea of people. We subconsciously convince ourselves that all these meetings are ultimately about "those" people. All these emails are about real people out there... somewhere. Our sermons that we write in an office or coffee shop [in isolation] are for "them" too. Our Evangelistic efforts and strategies are for "all those lost people out there"....and believe me, there are many lost souls just wondering in the arid deserts of their souls. We see them at church...for a moment...from a distance. They are there But are they more of an idea than a reality???

If we're being brutally honest, some of us don't really want to deal with or even lead "real people" so we 'play it off' as if we do. Our Idea of People is much easier to lead and somewhat manage and care about than all those Actual People. Why? Because Actual people are at times unpredictable, uninterested, inconsistent, moody, needy, demanding, hurting, and basically messy....some real messy.

The more we get involved with real people, the harder it gets. Better to just buckle down in our offices, get busy making ourselves look busy with Meetings, Emails, and such. Better to create busy work for those actual people than obtain any amount of time with you. It's much easier this way - just so happens that this is the furthest practice from the way of Jesus. Yes, He stole away to be with God..to pray...meditate...seek but He got right back in the fight!

For Jesus, people were not an idea, they were and are today, Real People. This World that God so loves, is filled with Real People, with real lives, having real struggles, with real needs, telling real stories, acting on real rebellion and experiencing real redemption. These are the people that surrounded Jesus. From His days of small town obscurity to His intensely demanding days of public ministry, Jesus surrounded Himself with the unpopular, the ridiculed, the outsiders, and the "peculiar." He actually Invited them in; the sick, the poor, the despised, even the self righteous; men and women and children; you name it..they were invited to know Him!

Real People were Invited, Real People Invaded but ALL were welcome.

While it's true that there were many whom Jesus did not surround himself with, there were always 3, 12, 50....Jesus even surrounded Himself with one of the 12 that would eventually betray Him...the one who broke bread with Him...the one who kissed Him...BUT, Jesus always knew who was with Him and who really wasn't...

There were always people [Real People] at His birth, through His life, at the cross, and at His ascension. He was rooted in God's love, grounded in relationship with everyday people...even His enemies.

I'm not sure what it looks like for you to intentionally surround yourself in relationship and proximity with Real People but why don't you give it a try. I know that our jobs are demanding. I know that our time can be limited But the stakes are way too high for us to be elusive now.

Our inaccessibility is no longer acceptable to God. Anyone have time for hospitality???

We can serve more humbly and accurately, and can lead much more effectively when we allow ourselves to be invaded by real people...not the folks with an underlying motive or opportunists..but real people with real matters.

How can you volunteer somewhere in your church?
How can you lead a small group of people [lead by the Spirit] who are young in their faith?
How can you stick around after church and help tear down?
How can you intentionally create time and space this week to know and love and lead and serve the Real People?

A Real God has called YOU to serve...really...so, why aren't you operating in your calling...really???

Obedience is better than sacrifice....and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. 1 Samuel 15:22(a)-23(a).

National Junior Honor Society Inductee: Joshua F. Deckard

The National Junior Honor Society or NJHS is a worldwide organization that consists of chapters in middle schools (grades 6-8). Selection is based on five criteria: citizenship, service, leadership, scholarship and character. Members must maintain a high grade point average (the national minimum is a 3.5) and become good citizens (by participating in service projects). The NJHS requires some sort of school service to the community, school, or other organizations. The projects help students meet the required service hour total monthly.

The National Junior Honor Society was founded in 1929 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) in the hopes of creating an organization that would recognize and encourage academic achievements and citizenship while also developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. The ideals of scholarship, character, service, and citizenship remain as relevant today as they were in 1929. Through the NJHS chapter service activities and academic standards members maintain and extend the qualities that won them selection. The National Junior Honor Society requires a student to have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

The NJHS has candles for every aspect of its requirements. A different colored candle is lit for each of its five characteristics. A speech is given for each topic, usually done by a group of specially selected students, to describe what each topic is about. Those selected students are usually the president, the vice-president, the secretary, the treasurer, and the member with the most service hours.

The NJHS motto is Noblesse Oblige. This is French for nobility obligates.

God Thinks You're Wonderful

Beloved, I know it may be difficult for you to believe that God knows your name - but He does. If you have accepted Christ as your personal Savior (Rom 10:9-10), your name is written in His hand and spoken by His mouth and whispered by His lips. On the contrary, see John 3:18.

He knows your name and thinks you're wonderful!

You have captured the heart of God. He cannot bear to live without you. God's dream is to make you right (righteous living) with Him. And the path to the Cross tells us exactly how far God will go to call us back. John 3:16

It is not our love for God; it is God's love for us in sending His Son to be The Way. If you want to touch God's heart, use the name He loves to hear...Father!

God Knows Who You Are

Psalm 139:1-10

This is a psalm (song) that David has given to the head musician, the director of music, at the Temple. David is expressing his knowledge of the fact that God has penetrated to the core of his being and examined his character intently, and He understands David better than anyone else ever could.

Like David, God knows us even better than we know ourselves. He is omniscient; He knows everything. He even knows every word that we are going to say before we speak it. Nothing we do or say surprises the Lord.

As humans, we oftentimes do not allow others to see the real us. We put on airs to impress our friends, families even our loved ones. But God sees through it all. Most of us will not allow others see our “true colors” because we are afraid they may flee from us or may not like us very well and possibly not want to remain our friend. After we remove the silk screens, we become transparent and are seen for who we really are. Are you ready to let others see the real “YOU?”

Scary isn’t…I know what you mean…LOL!

God still works in the lives of His children. “We all have character flaws because we are imperfect beings; God’s grace just covers them up!!”

We are created with a purpose to bring God glory so He will not just leave us out in the cold or to chance regarding our purpose. God will direct our paths without taking away our freedom but will we follow that path. Because God is love and He knows us so well, we are given every opportunity to honor Him in fulfilling that purpose—even if we take a few detours from that path along the way. God’s mercy and grace keeps us afloat and physically present in society… but He will lay us to rest if won’t act right!! Hmmmm… makes you think, doesn't it??

So…Go ahead and be yourself but live in love (not motivational lust), live responsibly (you are held accountable) and live righteously (right standing with God). The rest is really up to God and not humankind.

Practice Hospitality

"Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality." Romans 12:13

I love the holidays – especially Christmas – spending time with family and friends. It’s so much fun to get together with those you love. Laughing…Sharing…The warmth of a crackling fire...

But the real blessing comes when you are able to give to someone who’s in need. When you do, you are the one who receives the greater blessing. That’s God’s gift to those who give!

Watching an elderly lady beam with joy because someone decided to clean her home…
A young family is able to pay off a debt due to an anonymous financial gift…
A single mom gets a night off because someone offered to watch her kids…

These are definitions of true hospitality and it is the kind of giving that touches the heart of God.

When was the last time you reached out and touched someone?

Look around your neighborhood. Talk with the leaders of your church about needs within the congregation. Visit a local nursing facility or homeless shelter. Serve as a volunteer at a crisis pregnancy center. Call a friend. Smile at someone. There are millions of ways to practice hospitality. God wants to use you today!

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord, Open my eyes and heart to people around me who are in need. Give me a desire to practice hospitality daily! Amen.

What in the world do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won't come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas???

From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.

-The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.
-Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.
-Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.-
-The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.
-The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.
-The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.
-Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit--Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.
-The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.
-Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.
-The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.
-The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.
-The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.

God's Conduit

'It is God who works in you.'Php 2:13 NKJV

A conduit is a channel through which things like water and electricity move from one point to another. And you are God's conduit! You are designed to be a free-flowing channel for Jesus Christ Himself. God has chosen you to be His 'change-agent' in the earth. In the Lord's Prayer the original Greek says, 'Come thy kingdom. Be done thy will'(Mt 6:10).

Jesus no longer walks among us physically, but He has given us His mandate and all the power we need to carry it out. In other words, it's going to happen through you.

In Deuteronomy 11:24 God promised His people that He'd give them every place on which they set the soles of their feet. We bring the influence and benefits of God's kingdom wherever we go. The problem is, our 'receivers' don't always work. It takes faith to believe we actually hear God's instructions, just as it takes faith to believe an unseen radio wave is passing through our living rooms. Because we're confident of that reality, we tune in, receive and transmit.

Scientists tell us that the greatest metal conduit is pure gold. According to the Bible, that's our faith (See 1 Pe 1:7). But certain obstacles can block our ability to receive and be conduits for God. If our hearts are hard, our wires are down, or if we're unaware of our identity as conduits, we go through life without tapping into the power God's given us.

We must be full of the Word of God, and most importantly, spend time in intimacy with the Lord in order to be God's conduit.

Soul Winners

The Bible says: "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise." Proverbs 11:30 (NIV)

Imagine having a cure for cancer but refusing to share it, or saying, "I’m too busy." The gospel is only Good News if we are willing to share it and get it to those who want it.

Too many of us have become preoccupied with our material well-being. Instead of believing God for the salvation of our loved ones, we believe Him for mere houses, cars, vacations and our own self satisfaction. We quote that faith is the substance of things hoped for…(Heb 11:1). But the "things" we have in mind are material and temporal rather than the eternal things of that "better country."
(Heb 11:16)

We’re supposed to seek the kingdom of God first and foremost, and all these other "things" will be added to us. Let us put God’s kingdom ahead of our own.
(See Mt 6:33)

So…be wise and become a soul winner!

Celebrate Life Without Excuses

I would never trade my loving family, my amazing friends and my wonderful life, for less gray hair or a flatter tummy....well....maybe. But anyway, as I have matured, I've become kinder and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra piece of chocolate cake or for not making my bed, or for buying that odd item that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde in my bedroom. After all, I AM entitled to a treat, and to be a little junky AND to be extravagant! :-)

I have seen too many sad people depart from this world much too soon and before they ever understood the great freedom that comes with growing up. Whose business is it if I choose to read or update my FaceBook page until the wee hours of the morning and sleep until....? I will sing out loud and dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 70's, 80's, 90's 2000's and if I choose to weep over a lost love, I will.

I may walk the beach in a 2PC swim suit and maybe skydive in my birthday suit if I choose to, despite the pitying and gasping glances. They, too, will get old.

I may sometimes be absent-minded but there again, some of life's challenges are worth forgetting. I eventually remember the most important things.

Sure, over the years my heart has been broken and deeply wounded. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a parent dies, or even when somebody's beloved decides he or she decided to fall out of love with you. Sometimes broken hearts give us strength, understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile, and will never know the joys of being imperfect.

I am sooo blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turn gray and to have my youthful chuckles be 4ever etched into the depths of my soul. So many have never laughed but have frowned - then perishes before their hair could even turn silver.

As you grow in age, it is easier to be blatantly positive. And, growing older means that you should know better and make good choices. Growing older should mean that you really should care less about what other people think. I question myself less and less now. I have even earned the right to be wrong a times. So, I'm human!

I love who I am and very comfortable with me. I am free to be me. I love the person I am evolving to be. I know that I'm not going to live forever, but while I am alive, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, should have been, might have been or worrying about what will be.

Life is short so, I can eat dessert every single day if I want to, and laugh until my face hurts if I need to.

For you I wish: THAT YOUR FRIENDSHIPS NEVER FALL APART, ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE DEEP FROM YOUR HEART!

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE A RAINBOW OF SMILES ON YOUR FACE AND IN YOUR HEART FOREVER AND EVER!

Thinking For A Change by John Maxwell says: 'The right thought, plus the right people, in the right environment, at the right time, for the right reason, always produces the right result.' Let us examine those words:

1) The right thought. Thinking produces ideas and ideas have power. But every idea begins as a 'seed thought' and you have to nurture it!

2) The right people. Every time you expose the right idea to the right people, incredible things happen. In their company it blossoms and becomes infused with possibility.

3) The right environment. In the right environment thinking is valued, ideas flow freely, fresh eyes are welcome, change is expected, questions are encouraged, egos are checked, ideas stimulate better ideas, and thinking generates teamwork.

4) The right time. The Emperor Hadrian said, 'To be right too soon, is to be wrong.' While still in the stretching stage of an idea, present it without expectations, time frames or rigidly defined goals. Why? Because if you try to implement your ideas too early they may not survive.

5) The right reason. J P Morgan said, 'A man always has two reasons for doing anything: a good reason and the real reason.' Motives matter. Selfish motives disqualify us; God only gets behind ideas that fulfill His purposes and demonstrate that we care for others. Sometimes an idea becomes great when it partners with another one; other times it excels just as it is. One thing's for sure: as you stretch your thinking, you will discover that your thinking is stretching you.

Sandbranch Water Drive

Sandbranch is a community located in Seagoville Texas (approximately 30 minutes from downtown Dallas). About 400 families settled into the community around the 1950's and now the remaining residence are approximately 45 families, the majority being Sr. Citizens.

Sandbranch has developed contaminants in their water supply over the years. The families that reside in this community are often without potable tap water, causing a great inconvenience of having to purchase water for the purpose of drinking and cooking to avoid risking their health.

Church of the Solid Rock and Pastor Deckard enjoys organizing these monthly water drives and would love to encircle more ministry partners and local organizations to join us in providing clean drinking water to the Sandbranch Community.

Please help support our water drive by joining us on the 3rd Saturdays of each month at Kroger on Camp Wisdom near Main street in Duncanville. We'll meet between 9:30am -9:45 am then depart at 10am central standard time to caravan to Sandbranch.

We will depart from Kroger at 10 am and caravan to Sandbranch.

The water drive should take approximately 1 hour.

Church of the Solid Rock purchase water from Kroger because it’s less expensive. The water is packaged in 3-gallon cases which is easier to lift and load. You may purchase single gallons of water, bring them with you and meet us at Kroger on Camp Wisdom. You may also donate online at www.crock4christ.org and CSRock will purchase the water from Kroger then load & transport to Sandbranch. Some of the citizens from the SB Community form an assembly line to help unload the water and place in the community center. For those of you whom wish to join us but may have a handicap, don’t worry about heavy lifting, we work as a TEAM but most of all, we really enjoy the fellowship!

Are U An Undercover Christian?

I was at a large convention recently where all the participants wore name tags around their necks. This is a really good idea; lets people know who you are and helps when you cannot remember names. Name tags also give us a visual aid when meeting people.

Name tags can also identify the company people work for and whom you are dealing with but, they only work when they are facing the right way. If they are turned around they become somewhat useless. I mean, why wear a name tag if no one is able to read it?

Don't forget to check and be sure the name tag is not twisted in the wrong direction? Maybe some Christians do not care if another knows their name. Maybe some Christians do not want anyone to know who other Christians are??? Could it be that some Christians are ashamed of who they are and the God (our Creator) that we really work for?

I have known Christians who want to keep their "identity" a secret for fear of offending another or not being "politically correct" (what does politics have to do with God's business?) Maybe some Christians are afraid of being stoned or ridiculed; for being imperfect or maybe even made to feel guilty for being a progressive child of God?? Maybe they are ashamed of the imperfect "things" in their lives or embarrassed to be seen as a Jesus follower? Perhaps they do not even realize they are hiding their true identity....not keeping it real???

Whatever the case, Jesus did not call us to live as "closeted" believers. The very act of coming out as a Christian is not done in secret - it involves confession from our lips and belief in our hearts...then we are baptised to a life of purity and set apart to live decent, honorable and righteous lives. Christians should serve as light in a very dark and evil world; always pointing towards Jesus, the Light of the world and not to the evil drafts that plague our Christian society.

WE cannot let Christianity be our "clean little secret" but

our open-never-ending-declaration of freedom in Christ Jesus!

All Christians deserve to live an open, happy, fulfilled and joyful life! So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36

Don't be an undercover or closeted Believer....LIVE OUT LOUD....and with responsibility!!!

Lonnie, thank you for allowing God to use you..and for sharing your gifts with our church. Rev. Lonnie keep allowing God to use those anointed hands to blessed others. Ellen, thank you for the awesome percussions! You ROCK!!!

Rev. Darraugh, thank you for opening up the sanctuary to share your space with our church and for helping us to establish our local church body. It takes a real leader to not feel intimidated by another church who is NOT an MCC denomination but independent. Just proves that God's children can assemble and share in a Spirit-filled worship experience regardless of where!

I can't wait to see what God has in store for us on tomorrow. Rev. NaDine Rawls is preaching and I KNOW she's going to LET US HAVE IT!! Hope to see some more folks in the house!!!

Words can never express how one feels at the loss of a loved one, especially a parent. Seems this week has been one of those weeks where time and purpose have married. One generation of parents have crossed over and a new generation of parents has now dawned upon us. New trees are developing with each season of change and the baton has been handed off to begin a new race.

We'll miss you mom but we know that you are now resting from your labor. When Christ returns for us, we will be caught up together to meet Him in the AIR! I love you mom and will miss you more than words could ever express. I thank God that your final resting place is with Him!!! This is not a good-bye but a see-you-in-a-little-while...

Jude Werra documents résumé fraud for a living. His Liar's Index just hit a 5-year high. It includes the dean of a prestigious college who failed to graduate from any of the three institutions where she claimed to have earned degrees. Since 1995, Jude M. Werra, who runs an executive search firm in Brookfield, has been tallying the numbers of résumés he and his associates catch with false or misleading academic credentials.....

Solomon said, "bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man, but afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel." Proverbs 20:17

Paul warns about people who have lied so well and for so long, they've lost their capacity for truth. 1 Timothy 4:2

Dr. Harold Sala writes: Some people are so good at distorting the truth that they convince themselves… The chronic liar has made lying so much a lifestyle, she/he has a hard time perceiving reality… Not only does God disdain it, but the liar is destroying her/his own credibility... To turn a lifestyle of dishonesty around, you must recognize you have a problem: not an incurable one - but a persistent one; and acknowledge it, even if it means going public.

If you have a problem telling the truth, you must take these four steps:
(1) Repent. If we confess our sins, God will forgive us. 1 John 1:9 With God's forgiveness
comes His help. Hebrews 8:12
(2) Become accountable. Find somebody who's not afraid to ask you tough questions. Remember, the truth usually makes you miserable before it sets you free. James 5:16
(3) Drop the attitude of 'it's okay to lie because God will forgive me.' That cheapens His grace. "Shall we go on sinning...that grace may increase? By no means!" Romans 6:1-2
(4) Keep short accounts with God. When you blow it (and we all do) fess up and make it right with God and the people you've misled. 2 Timothy 3:13; 1 John 1:9

God Is Getting Ready to Clean House

Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil! Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned against thy soul. For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it. (KJV)

"Who do you think you are - recklessly grabbing and looting, Living it up, acting like king of the mountain, acting above it all, above trials and troubles? You've engineered the ruin of your own house. In ruining others you've ruined yourself. You've undermined your foundations, rotted out your own soul. The bricks of your house will speak up and accuse you. The woodwork will step forward with evidence. (MSGV)

In the world of relocation, a customer will get back all of some of a "hold back" refund when their home is sold in a 3rd party transaction. In order for this to happen, the home has to be left in "broom-swept clean" condition. If the home is not left in broom-swept clean condition and the "agent" has to clean the house before the next owner moves in, the customer loses some or all of the hold back refund. This is sort of like our souls. If we are not ready to die, God has to get us ready; ready to meet Him and that means we, as Christian Citizens, have to pay for our sins before our "house" is ready to move up in our "new home" called heaven; the Holy Place where God dwells.

Yes, get ready for God to clean house - the body of Christ - the "church" house if you will. God is getting us ready for that Great Day! He's coming back after the church, the church without spots or wrinkles. Yes, God is getting ready to clean up these church houses that claim to know and worship Him publicly but do not follow His commandments: love God first then love your neighbor as you love yourself. The righteous will always prevail over evil! So get your house righteous before God so evil can no longer dwell and continue to do damage. We as Christian Citizens have to take this violence by FORCE!!!

Matthew 12: 43-45 (KJV)
But the unclean spirit, when he is gone out of the man, passeth through waterless places, seeking rest, and findeth it not. Then he saith, I will return into my house whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man becometh worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this evil generation.

It's time for the church house to live up to the Word and not the world. Refuse to embrace what's sinfully comfortable. Discontinue to allow wrong to dwell in the church house; the temple. Stop looking the other way and expose the evilness taking place. Stop "putting on" as my mother would say, acting the part of living holy and walking humbly before God and humankind. Stop the picture show of mimicked worship. Cease the fake "holy dance" some display as David's dance, when He danced out of his clothes. The "tongues" we call communicating with God in "the spirit" and when there's no interpreter present...Yes, God is getting ready to cleaning house today.

The Word is coming back down so get His "house" ready to move up; get His house in broom-swept clean condition; preparing those of us, whom belong to the Body of Christ, to meet Him face-to-face.

Isaiah 38:1 - In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."

If Christ comes back after your "house" today, will you be ready?

Will your house be in broom-swept clean condition?

Then a voice came from the throne, saying: "Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both small and great!" What have you given today??? Ask yourself: "Have I given enough to reap a harvest in return??" When you give unconditionally, you also make room to receive. How you give will determine the outcome of your harvest. It's like making deposits into a bank account, people, or even a career - you get out of it, what you put into it.

When you make deposits of sustenance, it is safe to expect a generous return and when you need to make a withdrawal, [hopefully and prayerfully], you'll withdraw only what you need so there's enough left over for another day.

Today, try giving more love to those whom may be difficult to love and see what happens…..

Every one of you are called to be and do so much more than you are walking in. What did the devil try to steal from you?

Genesis 50:20 - But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

I have an awesome revelation for you this week. Do you know that whatever the devil tried to steal in your life, whether it was your health, finances, your mind, your peace or your family, is the exact area that the Lord wants to use you in? Jesus not only wants to bring total restoration, healing and deliverance to you in every area of your life (which is His perfect will), but He wants to use you to liberate others from the same things that He has released you from.

2 Corinthians 1: 3-5 - Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

Some of you may feel like you were thrown in a pit like Joseph. The Lord raised you up out of that pit so that you can rescue others out of their pit. For those of you whom have been bound by depression or tormented with fear, God wants to make you bold as a lion. He will release the oil of gladness to you so that you can also dispense it to others. For those of you who were healed of various sicknesses and diseases, God will use you to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. Even those of you that were delivered from drugs & alcohol or may have been in prison, Jesus has unshackled you to set other captives free. He is a righteous God who desires to use those whom are available. To God be the Glory!

For those of you whom have been delivered from the kingdom of darkness and were involved in occult practices such as psychics, tarot card reading or things of the new age, God has awesome plans for you to be used in His Kingdom of light in a ministry of miracles, signs and wonders.

1 Samuel 15:23 - For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Luke 22:31-32 - Simon, Simon - Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.
Jesus told Simon Peter that He prayed for him because the devil wanted to take him out and then He said to Peter – After you are converted, go and strengthen your brethren. He wants to use you to rescue and deliver others after you are restored and your mind is renewed.

Go out and lend a helping hand. Do what God has called YOU to do. We all have a role in this Play called Life!

Every one of you are called to so much more than you are walking in. What ever the devil tried to steal from you, God wants to reverse what was meant for evil against you, to save many others from the same calamities.

Money or Mission

Some statistics have shown that a great number of individuals and organizations are more concerned with how much money can "I" or "we" raise to promote a mission or quest. The focus is more on the potential money that can be raised vs. how much of the mission should be accomplished. We keep raising money for causes and cures but the gap expands further and further from society's reach. We have conclusions but still not very many solutions.

We argue and bicker over matters that do not concern God. What should matter is our relationship with Him (our Creator) and love for one another. Sure it's good to seek for cures of all kinds of diseases, promote justice and embrace diversity, pray for world peace, security and long for true diversity but will the money take the place of the mission before the mission is accomplished? Is it all about the money? Mission accomplished or just monies raised to promote an idea? Yes, it takes money to live and to offer aide to others but when do we finally accomplish the goals we seek to resolve?

Men (humankind) who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. (1 Timothy 6:5-9) For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves through with many griefs. But you, man (child) of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
(1 Timothy 6:10-12)

Can God trust you with the money to complete the mission? Or, will you take what is not yours and use that for your own person gain?

Now my advice to you is to use money [tainted as it is] to make yourselves friends, so that when it comes to an end, they may welcome you into the houses of eternity. The man who is faithful in the little things will be faithful in the big things. So that if you are not fit to be trusted to deal with the wicked wealth of this world, who will trust you with true riches? (Luke 16:9-11)

Dear individuals and organizations, I pray that your works reflect that of the mission and the money will follow. What God has ordained, no human being will put asunder.

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had... There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.
(Acts 4:32,34-35)

There's enough resources to go around so when individuals and organizations go on these missions (quests), make sure the money is used in the light it was given. Accomplish the mission with the money and not misuse the money promoting the mission.

Self Defense

"He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun." - Psalm 37:6

As a believer grows in trusting obedience and love, God often brings a test that seems uncharacteristically cruel. One of these tests is being wrongfully judged by those close to you. It is not for the reactionary. It cannot be passed over by simply gutting it out. Supernatural grace is the only means of passing this one. It is one of those tests the Savior had to experience Himself when being tried by the court of public opinion, the religious community, and the government of His day. His response to the government was silence. His response to the religious establishment was silence at the final judgment. To the rest of His accusers He remained quiet and left vindication to the Father.

And that all this assembly may know that Yahweh doesn't save with sword and spear: for the battle is Yahweh's, and he will give you into our hand."
1 Samuel 17:47

Jesus lived the commandment He gave to the disciples: "But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked" (Luke 6:35).

How do you react when you are accused or mistreated for no reason? Do you listen quietly or do you justify each and every action? Most of us take pride in doing what is right and expect the same from others, especially our brothers and sisters in the faith. Jesus knew that if you were to be a true follower of His, you would enter this test eventually. It is part of the program.

The workplace gives ample opportunity to be wronged, misunderstood, and maligned. The church (in some cases) gives us many opportunities to be falsely accused and misused by “church folk”. When God brings a measured assault against one of His children, it is to find out if that person truly believes in the cross. The cross is where each of us is given the opportunity to die to our pride, our reputations, and our egos. (I've been there)

When God allows a measured assault upon us, it is to find out if the cross is sufficient. He wants to see if we will seek to rescue ourselves. Jesus said if we die with Him, we will be raised with Him. When God allows Satan to bring the measured assault, ask God for the grace to cling to the cross. Let the pride and arrogance that Jesus wants to remove from our lives be crucified. Thank God for the opportunity to be crucified with Christ. Then your righteousness will shine like the noonday sun and the justice of your cause will be in His hands.

Qualified But Not Authorized

How many people do you know are a qualified candidate for a title but for some reason was not chosen?

How many of US are qualified for a title, selected for a position but really not authorized to carry that position? In a lot of situations and circumstances, I find this to be the case.

Just because a person has all the right credentials and degrees, the eloquent speech and words that seem to sound true; have all the right moves and does everything that seems to be in line with God's will, does not authorize them for that position.

Let's take preaching the Gospel & prophecy for example:
The words tells us this: And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:15

Are you really sent or did you appoint yourself to preach the Gospel and rightly divide the Word of Truth??? Check out Matthew 10:1

Let's take it a step further...

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are (the) called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing (righteousness) with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.

Are you qualified and not authorized?

Let's go deeper...

He (God) is against these false prophets who steal messages from each other and claim they are from God. Yes, He is against these smooth-tongued prophets who say this prophecy is from the Lord. Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams and spew flagrant lies that lead God's people into sin. I did not send them nor authorize them and they have no message at all for My people. False prophets leading God's people astray with their reckless lies. God did not appoint them and as a result, God's people do not benefit from their false prophecy. Jeremiah 23:30-32

If any prophet, priest, or anyone else says they have a prophecy from the Lord, God will punish that person along with their entire family. Jeremiah 23:34

Check out the lives of these prophets that profess to live for God. These "so called" prophets prophecy over others and can't prophecy over themselves effectively??? The word tells us that we will know them by their fruits...

Are you producing any fruit? If so, what kind?

Not all of us with prosper at the same time but we should prosper in some way. God's people will suffer such as Christ suffered but as we share in His sufferings we also share in His blessings. That's God's promise.

I have often asked God why the children of God who attend worship every week, touch and agree with other Believers and still live in bondage. Well, it's the "under-shepherd that covers the sheep. I know it is the responsibility of individuall to seek God for themselves but when you join a Body of Christ and connect to the real "men and women of God", you should be able to witness God's blessing upon the under-shepherd and the sheep. NO we are not to covet but enjoy our own blessings - be it big or small. As I grow in the knowledge and wisdom of God's word, I can see clearly now why there is no real spiritual growth and delayed blessings with God's people when dealing with some churches because they house 'prophets' whom have NOT been called (sent) by God. The best kept secret is to try the spirit by the spirit0- then you will know for sure, who's real and who's faking it.

If what a prophet proclaims, in the name of the Lord, does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Does that prophet call for repentance; for holiness and loyalty to Christ? Or is he/she scratching some itching ears?

So, I ask again...are you just qualified or are you really authorized to speak on behalf of God???

Deuteronomy 13:1-3 "If a prophet who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder of which he/she has spoken takes place, and he/she says, 'Let's follow gods you have not known and let us worship them,' you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love HIM with all your heart and with all your soul" or if you are completely relying on what has been proven by your finite eye-sight?

Now, let's bring it on home: Matthew 24:3-5,10-11 Jesus is questioned: when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? Jesus answered, "Watch out that no one deceives you, for many will come in my name; at that time many will turn away from the faith and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people."

Ephesians 5:6 - Do not let anyone deceive you with empty arguments: it is for this loose living that God's wrath comes down on those who rebel against him. Make sure you are not included with them. Check out Ephesians 5:11!!!

My advice is to get away from these fakers and shakers and connect with the authorized prophets - those called by God Himself. I know "they" seem real...the strange tongues...the sincere and humble looking & walk...the jerking and crying...the testa-lies and propha-lies...all looks and sounds convincing but it's all SMOKE! Once the smoke dissipates, you will clearly see that it was mimicked and copied replicas of real prophets. And, please refrain from arguments and proving your declaration; just keep on living, watching, fighting and praying that God will protect the innocent, the seekers; that they find Jesus and quickly and put all of their faith and trust in God and God alone.

Qualified but not authorized??? Be sure to connect with an "authorized agent" of God. Yes, the quality of a prophet may be there but it's the authorized prophet that has access to the heavenly realm as we dwell on earth. The real prophets, the called by God for God's purpose, the one's appointed by the Giver of Gifts to the church and to humankind are the sons and daughters of Him whom sent us. God is sending us out amongst wolves - Luke 10:3 "Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves."

Acts 20: 29-31 "I know quite well that when I have gone, fierce wolves will invade you and have no mercy on the flock. Even from your own ranks their will be men & women coming forward with a travesty of the truth on their lips to induce the disciples to follow them. So be on your guard!!!

Be blessed today and remember to seek the Holy Spirit to test 'the spirit' that comes in the name of the Lord. May God's blessings rest upon you and may God's peace dwell in your soul!

The Real Power is in God's Love

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1 John 4:10 (NIV)

We live in such a confusing world and it's easy to miss how beautiful we are to God and how much He really does love us. Let's learn to long for the love of God. His love for us is unconditional and free.

God's love came as the ultimate Gift because He is the ultimate Giver of every good and perfect gift. All we need to do is open up our hearts and say, "Yes" to the Lord. That simple word to our Creator will yield you to God’s love.

Evil hates the fact that you and I are loved by God. All hell is probably trying to get you to believe that God does not care about you or does not love you. The Enemy wants us to believe that we mean nothing to our Father. Not so!! The truth is, God created us and chose us to love with a Love that will last forever. If we accept the Love, the Gift of Love then we will receive that unconditional love as our own personal Gift!

Beloved, fight off your fears and claim God’s love in your lives. Reach up and open your heart to Him. Ask God to tangibly show YOU His love...for you. Let Him fill you with His endless and abounding love. You can rest with the assurance of God’s love; it's an essential element of handling whatever comes your way. Now, that's POWER!!!

Prayer for today: Dear Creator God, help me to stand firm against the evil one (Satan) who tries to make me doubt your love. Dispel any fears and doubts that creep into my spirit and fill me with your love. Help me to enjoy the love you have for me, in Jesus name, Amen.

When Sin (in the Church) Becomes Popular

And He (Christ) Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect human, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head-- Christ-- from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:11-16

Are you one of these gifts that Christ gave to the church? Is your ministry consistent with God’s purpose for the church? If your ministry is contrary to God's purpose for these gifts, you will be exposed!!! As church leaders, our motivations must be from the spiritual heart of God and not of the carnal mind and sinful nature of humankind. Church leaders must live righteously before God and humankind. Our lives should remain purified from habitual sin. Our lives should reflect the blessings and promises of God not that of tragedy & lack.

If you have sinned against God's church, have you repented? Are you sorry for your misdoings as they really DO displease our Creator? My definition of sin is anything that exalts itself above God and causes spiritual separation from God and His will for our lives. Do God's will and allow the Spirit to lead and guide you with a level-head and uprightness. Psalm 143:10

Repent and be sorry for displeasing God and cease to habitually sin again. Now is the season for repentance as God is calling the church to repent or be exposed openly. As church leaders, God is holding us responsible for the lives we live. Those who engage in below-standards of living should cease making this a popular way of life. Yield your will to God's perfect will and fully live for Christ. Stop deceiving the children of God with your fancy words and false display of holiness. Stop acting humble then resume a low-life position behind the scenes when you THINK no one is watching. Do the right thing even when no one is watching. Really live up to God's standards for wholesome and healthy Christian living. Practice what you preach and not just preach what YOU yourself have no intentions of practicing.

But all things having their true character exposed by the light are made manifest; for that which makes everything manifest is light. Ephesians 5:13

If light is taught in the church, how can a church leader live in darkness. How can a church leader teach light if that leader has chosen to live in darkness??? Some church leaders do not live up to the standards of God. Some church leaders engage in "loose living" only because grace is being used as a parameter to live like 'dogs in heat.'

Just because God gives us grace to live our lives does not mean we take that grace for granted. Paul tell us in Romans 6:14-15

The sad truth about the wayward church leaders is, the communities which these leaders represent, have accepted this way of living as popular. It's popular to live an unrighteous life! Sin has become a sad and trendy popularity contest...the latest but not the greatest fashion. How many bed-partners do you need? How many ways can you steal from the church? How often do you change your character to fit the custom? Since when does perfection becomes abnormal? Are your ethics too low? Do you really love the church or just what the church can give you? How can you lead when you do not follow God's instructions for the church?

News flash…habitual sin is NOT acceptable and pleasing to God.

As spiritual leaders, we must continue to strive to be like Christ and continue to stand for righteousness; even if we stand alone. I'm going to make it personal... " even if I stand alone, I will stand firm."

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place…Ephesians 6:13-14

No, I am not judging anyone but making a clear observation of what I have seen in God's house for many years and frankly, it is time for that foolishness to cease. Sure we all make mistakes but should we continue to make the same mistake over and over again? We all have our own crosses to bear and must carry them until the end of our days. Yes - we all stumble and fall but we do not have to stay fallen. Yes - we all make mistakes but we should learn from them and not repeat them. Christ was the only perfect person that walked the face of the earth…..and we are not Him but we should strive to be like Him.

Do I love everyone – YES! Do I like everyone – NO! I do not like the unrighteous. I do not like liars. I do not like thieves. I do not like deceivers. I do not like those who do wrong and know they are doing wrong but somehow justify it with a convincing excuse. I do not like messy folks. I do not like folks who cause confusion. I do not like jealous people. I do not like anything that causes destruction and strife.

Yes, Christ died for all sin for by Christ, our sins were covered by the blood, the ultimate sacrificial lamb who loves us all. We are all sinners saved by GRACE but that does not give us the right to practice sin. Romans 6:14-15

Church leaders must rise to the righteous occasion and cease to live for unrighteousness. Stop lying to the sheep. No more self-titles to impress the church folk. Stop hiding behind the royal looking robes and step up to the Royal Faith in Christ. Stop spiritually cheating the sheep of their freedom to do real work for Christ. God's people are not human puppets but are people with real souls and minds, and with real issues. If you're going to preach, declare the Gospel Message. Stop preaching other people’s tragedies in the pulpit. (That’s not cool) No more robbing the church of its resources for ministry to live extravagant lives. No more shedding of innocent blood for your own self-righteousness and edification. After all, the mature Christians really see who you are and really see the real YOU.

Why do you continue to make a mockery out of God's church??? The House of the Lord is a sacred Temple of worship and not a place to hang out with your buddies when you do not have anything else to do. The church if NOT a venue for the latest ‘trash’ disco show! It's NOT a place to go and be entertained when you're bored. It's a gathering place for Believers. Church is a sacred ground to pray and commune corporately with God, touching and agreeing with followers of Christ on righteous things, and not a place to pick up a "hot date" or find a person to impress. God's Church is NOT a place for public folly of worldly engagements. Stop "playing church" and really be God’s Church. Your title or office in the church should not make you look down on others but calls for teaching and serving one another in love. Worship God but serve one another. Honor God and love each other. Love God with all of who you are. Be the leader, the Christian Leader that God has called you to live.

The gifts that Christ gave to the church is a serious charge and should not be taken lightly. If God has called you to lead at a higher capacity, then lead with high ethics, high morals and high standards. Not to be so far removed or so far ahead that you create a bubble over yourselves and get too far ahead of the people but being the leader you’d want to follow. Would you follow yourself by the ways you live???

As apostles, prophets, evangelist, pastors and teachers, we are held accountable by God (the only Judge) for the souls we lead to Christ and the one's we cause to stumble and fall...and remain fallen (lost; ungodly living). The bloodshed will be on the hands of those spiritual leaders that aid in the cause of unfortunate yet preventable confusion.

When wrong is made ‘right’ in the church – we have a SERIOUS problem! When habitually practicing wrong becomes your platform of praise, LOOK OUT because God is watching! Those who sin are to be rebuked publicly, so that others may take warning. 1 Timothy 5:20

God speaks of false prophets in the last days. If there is a continuation of these “false agents" and if the shoe fits -- YOU WILL BE EXPOSED!!! The New Covenant tells us to be beware of false prophets who come disguised [look and act like] harmless sheep but are really vicious [deadly] wolves. We can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act [publicly/privately]. We do not pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles do we??? A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions [things they do]. Matthew 7:15-20

God is not going to tolerate [forever] the lack of productivity!!! Ephesians 5:10-11 tells us to carefully determine what pleases the Lord and have nothing to do with fruitless acts of evil but expose them. Verse 13 goes on to state that the evil intentions will be exposed when light is shed on the evil because the light shows everything!

Does your your silence approve of wrongdoings! Do you approve of sin? Is sin popular in your community? In your church? In your workplace? Will you become a "whistle blower", breaking your silence???

Those of us being light ourselves (Ephesians 5:8), by bringing light through reprove of those who are in darkness, will convert them to light. Our consistent lives and faithful reproofs will be our "armor of light" (Romans 13:12) in making an inroad [invasion] on the kingdom of darkness (evil; the Enemy).

When sin becomes popular, who will stand against the evilness that sin promotes??? Perhaps YOU have been chosen for the task….??? Repent or perish...the kingdom of God is near!

How's Your Vision

When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful. Proverbs 29:18

Robert Fritz wrote, “It is not what a vision is; it’s what a vision does.” What does a vision do?

Vision is the ability to see. Helen Keller was asked, “Is there anything worse than being blind?” “Yes,” she replied, “having eyesight but no vision!” Leaders imagine a preferred future. Vision is a major key of the future. Vision is the vivid image of the compelling future God wants to create through us.

Leaders can stand up and say this is where we are going….

Mike Vance tells of being at Walt Disney World soon after its completion when someone said, “It’s too bad Walt Disney didn’t live to see this.” Vance replied, “He DID see it—that’s why it’s here.”

What kind of vision do you have?

Myopic vision: Leaders with myopic vision are so terribly nearsighted that they live only for today. Their vision of the future is fuzzy. They can barely see beyond their noses.

Peripheral vision: Leaders with peripheral vision are blindsided by side issues. These visionaries are hampered in moving forward because they catch the threatening images of people lurking on the sidelines who will defeat their efforts. These folks are easily distracted.

Tunnel vision: Leaders with tunnel vision see only what’s dead ahead of them and assume that their slender view of reality reflects the whole world. They don’t see other persons or other issues.

Panoramic vision: Leaders with panoramic vision see the big picture. They see beyond today. They see what is ahead of them. They see what is to their sides. They have a basic understanding of the key ingredients of a healthy organization and know the steps that it will take to get them there.

How’s your vision? Without it your organization will be like an unbridled horse. With it the organization will be focused, moving toward the fulfillment of the dream lurking problems in the corners of their eyes. They are fearful of shadowy difficulties and people lurking on the sidelines who will defeat their efforts. These folks are easily distracted.

Vision is perhaps the greatest need of leadership today. As someone said regarding the church but it pertains to any organization, “Our preachers aren’t dreaming. That’s why the church and is such a nightmare.”

Do not be moved or afraid of a dead snake. After all, it's dead. I know it may look weird twitching after it has been killed but....it's still dead. You shall not be moved! I'm sure the snake may startle you upon your approach but...it's still dead. You shall not be moved! Yes the scary motives and loud rattle or noise may try to get you off track and cause you to walk on the other side of the road for a little while but...it's still dead. You shall not be moved! Sure the implications of danger and fake gestures may look real but....it's all fake. You shall not be moved! Many replicas of authenticity will be displayed but....it's all fake. You shall not be moved! Here are some passages of scripture to encourage you to stand still in faith...

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:3

Let no temptation take hold on you, but such as is human. And God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able: but will make also with temptation issue, that you may be able to bear it.

1 Corinthians 10:13

For she shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be anxious in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:8

Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid of them! The LORD your God will go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor forsake you.

In this passage, Moses was speaking to the children of Israel. He encouraged them to follow Joshua's leadership as he would not complete the journey with them to the Promised Land. Moses always knew that God would be with them even though they faced many obstacles and danger. Once again, God's revelation gave the Israelites another glimpse of hope and promise and they were able to keep moving forward.

If we, as children of God, would keep our minds focused on heavenly promises instead of earthly problems, we'd all have less worries, sleepless nights and restless days. God IS the source for everything we need. If God promised it, He will deliver therefore, when you see a dead snake twitching, don't be afraid -- YOU shall not be moved!!!

Psalm 15:1-5
1) Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
God, who gets invited to dinner at your place? How do we get on your guest list?
2) He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
Walk straight, act right, and tell the truth.
3) He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
4) In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
Don't hurt your friend, don't blame your neighbor; despise the despicable.
5) He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
Keep your word even when it costs you, make an honest living, and never take a bribe. You'll never get barred if you live like this.
